Google and Facebook have recently been in a battle over export Gmail contacts into Facebook. Rumors are that Facebook wants to contest the Gmail service. It might be clear why the company introduced a protective policy for the profitable contact information.

Two of the most popular email clients in the world are from Microsoft. These are Microsoft Office Outlook and Outlook Express. Microsoft Office Outlook comes bundled with Microsoft Office or can be purchased as a standalone while Outlook Express is their free version. Office Outlook is a much more advanced program it has build in calendar, task manager, contact manager and built in web browser. Outlook Express is built on a different language and works with mail.

Another player in the game is Mozilla with its Thunderbird program. This program is a free program that is part of the Mozilla Application Suite. You are able to manage multiple email accounts with Thunderbird.

Opera Mail works across multi operating systems making it a great option for those that work on PCs and Macs. Opera Mail is a freeware program that manages mail along with being a news client and IRC chat relay program.

The Bat is my favorite program for business adventures. The program costs $45 and has a learning curve. With the The Bat you will be able to setup auto responses to different emails making it great for tech support or for sales related questions.

Chrome is a light weight browser that is quick to load and between pages. The bookmark system takes a while to get use to and it has difficulties saving passwords. Some sites your login information will never save correctly. There are fewer plugins for Chrome than other browsers and the integration isn’t as straight forward as other browsers.

Firefox has been in the market longer than Chrome. You will notice at first that Firefox is more dependent on resources. The browser has a perfect setup for bookmarks that is easily organized for future use with a toolbar and a drop down from the title bar. The real winner with Firefox is the availably of plugins that you can use with the program. Do you want to grab videos from YouTube? Download music? Grab Emails? Check Backlinks? Those are just a few of the plugins that you can choose from. The plugin system is easily integrated into the software and it checks for updates automatically.

Both are great browsers with different strengths and weakness. Chrome is lightweight and great for everyday surfing. Firefox is dynamic with the ability to do more things inside its window. I personally use both for different day to day chores.
